1981 introduced the 24" cruiser as the 26" models were be phased
out due to the Pro's preferring the 24" size wheel. The
frame features the classic looptail design but has no headtube
gusset and chain tensioners.
It is unclear on how many actually were produced but currently
there are only five known to exist.
The rest of the bike is all Cook Bros. Racing parts and the rest
era correct.
Gary and Craig Cook were crankin' out innovative US made
products and appreciate all they did for BMX!
The funky lookin' bars came out late 1981 by Procraft which
features 26" x 5" measurements and a 20" bend allowing any type
of brake lever to be used. These never caught on and not
seen too often.
Before HUTCH pedals there were Titrons. The Titrons on the
cruiser are protypes that are very basic in design which caused
the bodies to break and/or crack making these very rare. A
complete redesign was done to mold a stronger body which allowed
bearings to be inserted giving them a solid/smooth rotation.
The cages remained the same until HUTCH had Titron create the
bear trap cages and changed the body with the flat HUTCH
stamping giving more surface area to grip. HUTCH bling'd
out the pedals with chrome to make them so popular.
